I have to analyze this storey and am having a bit of trouble. I have two questions:
David describes to Saul his role as a shepherd. What does this description sugget about God’s rold in relation to the Hebrew people? How does the story of David and Goliath illustrate this role?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. ![]()

Just as Saul looks after his flock, God is the shepherd for his people. If a wolf or other threat came after Saul’s sheep, he would protect them. Because Goliath threatened God’s chosen people, he came to their aid and helped David protect them.
